It all started round about the end of 1995. My husband, Josh, came up with an idea to do a painting of a Phantom Race. Together we researched what we thought were the best horses racing between 1970 and 1995, and came up with twenty-eight of them! I know that's a lot of horses to put in a race, but, hang on, that race never happened anyway! We had 990 large prints done of the painting and it was a huge hit. It was a hard act to follow, but when Makybe Diva burst on the scene, along with some other great horses, we just had to go again. The Diva and the Best was a smaller print and only 500 copies were printed. There followed several others featuring the great mare, and, just as I was starting to run out of ideas, along came Black Caviar! As these prints are limited in number, they are a little dearer then the others, but well worth it. They are only sold loose, as paper prints, or framed. |
